Without You, I Am Nothing

“For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” —Galatians 6:3

I am nothing! We are nothing without God. Mankind is nothing! The only good thing about me is Jesus Christ, who saved me when I was a 6 year old little girl, because I believed on Him to forgive my sins. The Holy Spirit has been with me ever since, guiding, convicting, comforting, teaching, and chastening me when I do wrong. I am nothing without God.  Jesus means everything to me, for without Him I’d spend eternity in the flames of Hell separated from His eternal love. I am nothing.  I am nothing special. I am a sinner without God's grace, without Christ's grace we are all corrupt sinners, with faults and shortcomings. Without God, I am nothing.

The Bible defines a “just man” as one who stumbles repeatedly, but gets back up again to live for God, Proverb 24:16 "For a just man falls seven times and rises up again."  A just man doesn’t quit. There’s no such thing as a just man who doesn’t falter at times.

This is real discipleship — complete dependence on Christ in everything. Our lives should be Christ-sufficient and not self-sufficient. This is the only way to bear fruit as his true disciple.

In John 15:5, Jesus states this truth negatively: “Apart from me you can do nothing.” The preposition is “apart” . . . from Jesus. The result is: nothing, not anything, naught, no single thing. Without Jesus, nothing of value is possible!

Living in complete dependence on Christ requires great humility on our part. We must daily humble ourselves before him and acknowledge that apart from him we can do nothing.

Apart from Christ, we do not have the ability to bear fruit; but he has all temporal and spiritual treasures, and can supply everything and anything from his abundant fullness.

Psalm 16:2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord. Without you, I have nothing good." We have nothing good.

I don't know why God would choose such a imperfect vessel as myself, but He did and I am thankful. There's nothing great about me outside of Christ. God let me know I'd reach people who's never been reached and I'm still looking forward to Him completing His work in me.

“Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!” — Isaiah 6:5
